![]() It was the first time I was ever able to be a part of the DLC hype. I couldn’t wait to see what cool, creative characters would come out at launch. I specifically made time on an out of state trip (one that I was already going on) to wait 3 hours at a mall to play the demo. To say I was pumped for this game was an understatement. It’s safe to say a decent portion of my life and the people I know now are due to my love of smash bros. I made a ton of new smash friends and really enjoyed learning all sorts of new “tech” to enjoy the game I loved. Smash 4 was popular during my early college years, and this is where I first was introduced to the competitive scene. Brawl brought subspace emissary, which I easily have hundreds of hours in. By the time melee came around, my brother had moved on, but I had made my own friends through school and whatnot and so I played melee with them. My older brother and I would face off in 64 and we were pretty evenly matched. Either way, while I was growing up I loved to play it. I’ve been playing the series since I was 3 years old, though I’m not sure if you could really call it playing at that point. I have to start off with some background. Tl dr at the bottom because after finally writing all of this it’s a book. Also probably bad formatting because mobile yadda yadda.
